sfam and PURGE are two of the most exciting duos in electronic music. PURGE have been taking over with their dark bass sound, while sfam have been dominating the experimental trap scene. The idea of them coming together for a collab is a dream for bass fans…a dream which has come true today with the release of ‘Fuq Dat’. Like any good collaboration, ‘Fuq Dat’ was born out of a mutual respect. “It’s weird how we connected. There’s kind of this like camaraderie that’s developed within the ‘dark bass’ side of dance culture. Everyone pretty much knows everybody on the dark side. Sounds like some Star Wars shit but I don’t know. We like all just look out for each other,” PURGE tell us. What started out as mutual admiration online turned into a real friendship after PURGE brought out sfam for a show in Orlando. With the friendship blossoming, it was only a matter of time before the two duos connected to create something special.
‘Fuq Dat’ is a dark bass beast. With vocals from quaviusblack, the track balances a gritty rap tone with a sinister dark trap soundcape. PURGE bring their entrancing bass synths and melodies while sfam ensure the drops devastate. All dimensions of ‘Fuq Dat’ are effortlessly intertwined for a sound that’s anthematic yet aggressive.
