“My main goal as a producer is to make something different from the rest and not settle for being mediocre,” BONNEMA tells us. The up-and-coming producer put this mantra on full display when he blew our minds with ‘Black and White.’ Today he returns with yet another mind-melter entitled ‘Lake Flow.’ The title is an homage to his hometown ‘Lake Fo’ aka Lake Forest, California. It was inspired by sumthin sumthin’s work but showcases BONNEMA’s wealth of talent and originality.
‘Lake Flow’ defies genres, mixing elements of experimental bass, trap, future bass and even house. Distorted and heavily processed vocals bleed into a drop that’s as wonky as you’ll find. Dark and distorted bass crashes into bright synths for what sounds like a war between darkness and sunshine with the former edging itself into prominence. The insanity is broken with a dizzying break that refocuses your energy, just to prep you for even more bass.
