PREMIERE: BINKS’ ‘Hope’ Is A Trap Epic

by Colin

As half of Pyramid Juke, BINKS was at the forefront of the trap movement. In recent time the OG has been venturing out with his solo project. Last year, we had the pleasure of premiering his aptly titled ‘Redemption’ and most recently he connected with UZ for ‘Hollow,’ a standout on UZ’s The Rebirth album. The track served as a strong example that his best work is still ahead of him. Proving this further comes his latest release ‘Hope’. The title track off his upcoming EP is rich with progression and classic trap elements. The intro is hazy with an almost spacey backing. As he brings in the percussion and bass the real trap sound begins to take shape. With ancient eastern influences, the first half feels like a trapped out meditation sequence, transporting you to new worlds. The latter half sees ‘Hope’ exploring a second act. This one more visceral and raw. It evolves into a full-fledged banger that perfectly ties together gritty trap sounds with a more regal soundscape. This is trap music at its finest. Stream ‘Hope’ below and look out for the EP tomorrow on Skrong.
