Amidst festival season, Buku‘s latest tune is a perfectly-timed banger, which is set to go off at all of his upcoming tour stops this summer. ‘YEAHBOi!’ shows off the artist’s signature growling bass, as well as where his mind’s been going, in a way that he hasn’t allowed himself to explore before.
As the title would go on to suggest, the tune cries out “Yeah boi!” (or simply, “yeah”) for a good portion of its duration- both in a hyper, high-pitched manner around the face-melting drops, and in a slow, chill, and content manner otherwise. Buku himself says that the song “came from a place of unrestrained creativity“. This led him to create something that doesn’t feel like it fits into any particular mould, and unleashes itself in such a carefree, energy-raising manner. “After having the chance to test it over the last few months, I feel as though I’ve dialed in something that engages a freedom of inhibitions.”
