Chance The Rapper is back! Earlier this week rumors of a new Chance album dropping this week were running rampant until Chance took to Twitter to shut them down. But just because a new album isn’t here (yet) it doesn’t mean Chance wasn’t good to his word for dropping new music. Today we’ve been blessed with 4 stellar new Chance tracks produced by Lido, Peter Cottontale, Nico Segal & more.
‘I Might Need Security’ kicks off the new releases with a fierce punch. A looped “fuck you” sample sets the tone as Chance unloads a barrage of bars ripe with quotables like, “They think they Heath Ledger scary, they just Jack Nichols/ I’m a sign to my city like the Bat-Signal/ Young chosen one, golden boy, De La Hoya/ It ain’t too many me’s, rest in peace to Verne Troyer.” ‘Work Out’ takes a more mellowed approach reminding us it’ll all be okay with Chance sprinkling in his signature humour. ‘Wala Cam’ (feat. Supa Bwe & Forever Band) keeps that energy going with a swaggy summer feel. Capping things off comes ’65th & Ingleside,’ a touching ballad that has Chance getting nostalgic.
