You never know what you’re going to get when frequent collaborators come together on a track. One should always listen to a joint project with an open-mind, because that’s often when artists step out of their comfort zone to deliver something new and unique. Countless producers have preached how working in the studio with someone else completely changes their way of approaching a track, and this fresh take is on full display in YOOKiE and Jameston Thieves’ newest collaboration titled ‘Pop Rocks’.
Having collaborated on a few tracks in the past, the chemistry between the artists shines in the genre-defying ‘Pop Rocks’. Both YOOKiE and Jameston Thieves have stepped out of their comfort zone to deliver an eccentric heater riddled with gritty synths and unmatched energy. Jameston Thieves described this track best, stating it’s “a paradox of vibes, where the song is rather dark feeling, but the lyrics are more or less a bit whimsical.”
