New Orleans-based trap artist and Run the Trap Editor in Chief CRWNS first popped up on my radar almost 3 years ago, when a close friend introduced me to his astonishing remix of NGHTMRE’s emblematic trap banger ‘Street’, which still to this day is one of the most memorable flips of the tune that I’ve heard.
Max came back with some heat this past week, with an absolutely captivating take on one of RL Grime’s most recent releases, ‘Undo’ featuring Jeremih & Tory Lanez, from his long-awaited album ‘NOVA’ which is available as of Friday.
Drowned out vocals lead into the addicting trap influenced beat presents a sense of nostalgia, as CRWNS pays homage to the original, while simultaneously laying the foundation from which his remix will be built. The drop features an assortment of exquisitely crisp synths, while alternating snippets from the chorus provide a choppy, yet alarmingly clean feel to the track as a whole.
This remix is yet further testimony of CRWNS unprecedented vision for the future of trap music, as well as his ability to weave his own style and influence into a song; enhancing it and taking it to an entirely new standard. Stream below and grab the free download.
