Wavedash and NGHTMRE Are A Match Made In Heaven

by Steph Contant

Austin-based trio Wavedash have gone from unknown high-schoolers to dubstep’s most promising act in just three short years. After earning the respect from none other than Skrillex with their 2016 single ‘Bang’, the sound design geniuses have continued to tear speakers around the world with their tracks such as ‘Like That’, ‘Off Leash’, and more recently with ‘Devil Music’ and their collaboration with Slander titled ‘Move Back’. The young trio’s ability to push sound boundaries and keep bass music fun and refreshing is unparalleled, and it’s nice to see them finally get the exposure they deserve through collaborations with trap dons Slander and today’s latest monster titled ‘Grave’ alongside NGHTMRE.

‘Grave’ was first teased at Ultra Music Festival back in March when the boys jumped on stage with Slander and NGHTMRE for part of their show, and fans have been itching for a full release ever since. It was well worth the wait, as the bass-heavy track combines immaculate sound design with raw, unadultered bass to create an insanely complex masterpiece. The influence of both Wavedash and NGHTMRE can be heard throughout the track, with the former’s signature synths shining in the drops and the latter’s diversity and trap roots tying the track together. The last drop will leave you in awe, with the producers stepping out of their comfort zones to deliver an unexpected surprise.
