Shadient Kicks It Up A Notch In ‘COLLIDER’

by Steph Contant

Shadient may be the perfect embodiment of the corny yet accurate cliché “quality over quantity”. With only a couple of handfuls of tracks released under his name, this hasn’t stopped him from earning the respect of electronic music’s most elite artists such as Kill The Noise, Rezz and Mat Zo, to name a few. After a highly acclaimed debut EP titled winter=reality released last spring on MAD ZOO, the talented producer has been relatively quiet in the past year before surprising fans with three tracks over the last three months, including a bass masterpiece released yesterday on MAD ZOO.

Following an eerie remix for Wavedash & Quest’s ‘Devil Music’ and an electro-inspired flip of Virtual Self’s ‘Ghost Voices’, Shadient has returned with one of his darkest tunes to date in the form of ‘COLLIDER’. The producer starts off with a frantic soundscape reminiscent of a horror movie, before leading us into the depths of his sinister mind with twisted, grimy synths and spine-chilling effects. The second drop takes a complete one-eighty with even more distorted bass perfection than the first. ‘COLLIDER’ flawlessly encompasses what Shadient brings to the electronic music scene: an incredibly unique take on a genre that is quickly becoming over-saturated. Do not sleep on this guy.
