Deathpact Keeps Hot Streak Alive With ‘First Interference’

by Steph Contant

Rezz has always made a point of collaborating with up-and-coming producers on her projects, and perhaps the most intriguing track from her latest album was ‘Life & Death’ with an unknown producer who goes by the name of Deathpact. With slightly over 500 followers on SoundCloud and only one public track prior to the massive collaboration, many have been speculating about the new producer’s identity. The enigma behind Deathpact continues to get weirder when coming across his website, where the phone number 917-283-2750 seemingly leads fans on a wild online treasure hunt.

The mysterious producer continued his (or her) hot streak yesterday with their third track in the last thirty days. While Deathpact only has three releases under his name, they are quickly making a name for themselves by combining funk and house with and eerie yet groovy signature. This style is on full display in his latest titled ‘First Interference’, where an old, goosebump-inducing radio tuning sample transitions into a bouncy introduction that could have easily been turned into an electro-funk type of track. Instead, Deathpact seamlessly alters the flow of the track with a dark beat that would fit perfectly in any underground house set from the likes of Drezo or Malaa.

Stream ‘First Interference’ below and keep a close eye on Deathpact, as we’re certain this isn’t the last we’ll hear of this anonymous producer.
