Emilie Brandt‘s second official music video really makes a statement, and gives the viewer something to think about. ‘Teeth’ is a story of seduction, murder, and vigilantism that comes in light of the #MeToo movement, to help bring awareness to the sexual harassment & abuse that takes place in the music industry, being one of many examples.
The video is for the sixth track on her debut album, Freeform, and really takes its audio counterpart to the next level. Denver’s rising songstress plays the main character of the tale, which starts off as ‘boy meets girl’, yet doesn’t stay that way for very long. On a personal level, there were scenes which caused me to sit back & think about what I have been through myself. It may do the same for you as well, so please keep this in mind as you watch.
Emilie’s taking a bold step on an issue which is recently being addressed on a wide scale, as she continues to show off her uncensored side of expression. There’s still a ways to go, but this statement is what we need in order to move forward.
