A man who lives up to his name, NXSTY has been responsible for some of the hardest and filthiest tracks of the year. From ‘T E R R A’ and ‘ C O U P E’ to his latest collaboration with Badrapper ‘Catch My Vibe,’ every release is an absolute beast. With a release on Dim Mak’s New Noise, an official remix for ATLiens & TYNAN and a collab with Fabian Mazur, 2018 has been his breakout year. NXSTY just surpassed 10 thousand followers and is showing no signs of slowing down. He’s dropping a new single on Friday and has collabs coming with some of best producers in the industry on the way. Given his momentum we had to connect for a Guest Mix and interview. The mix is 39 minutes of bass madness littered with a ton of unreleased IDs and his upcoming single. How long have you been in B.C. Did you grow up there?
I’ve been here all my life, love it here. It’s always so beautiful it’s like living in a forest, great place to always be outdoors it will always be my home, one thing that bothers me is the weather it’s always raining.
What do you enjoy most about the West coast?
Love the culture, it’s where I discovered my overall sound and passion for music. I was heavily inspired at a young age and was breakdancing since about 6 years old and continued until I started producing at 14, so that scene of hip hop had a big pull on my creative side.
I started getting tired of trying to find good music so I decided to try and do it myself.
When did you decide that you wanted to start making music? What drove you to begin creating?
Definitely began with breakdancing and will always have endless love for it, but in the end it was always the music that intrigued me. I started getting tired of trying to find good music so I decided to try and do it myself.
Given that you started out making hip-hop beats, who is your favourite rapper?
Favourite rapper right now would probably be G-Eazy just because I’ve been listening to him since I was 13 and that whole Bay Area sound is something I’ve always enjoyed and what I grew up on.
It feels like each of your tracks is harder than the previous one. Is this an intentional progression? Are you always trying to go harder?
I guess you just get used to listening to the same thing over and over again you just need to go harder to impress your friends and yourself.
When you need a break for creating music what do you do?
I enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding, and just overall spending time with friends and family, it always helps the ideas come quicker.

It sounds like you’ve got a few collabs in the works, can you tell us a little bit about who you’ve been working with lately? When should we expect to hear them?
Been collaborating a lot with friends and overall people I look up to such as Bailo, Holly, Krishchvn, UNKWN, Blush, and many more. I have single coming out this month and after that I’m letting loose all the amazing collabs of course.
What else should fans look out for from you in the near future?
Definitely expect a change in sound this year. I wanna focus on not just making a banger but a whole song that has a soul and backbone behind it as well.

You hit 10k SoundCloud followers last month. Where does the milestone rank for you in terms of career highlights?
I honestly thought this would never happen a year ago and now that it has. It’s definitely the sign showing me that I can do this and to not give up, I’ve gone too far to not keep going.
You recently made your debut in LA. What did that show mean to you? How did you feel after finishing your set?
I think meeting people that just love my music and took there time to come see me is crazy. I love that I got to meet such incredible people and make friends, hope to be back soon, it was one of my favourite shows to date!

I’ve been holding so much music in and I feel this mix was the perfect time to showcase it and really appreciate FUXWITHIT giving me the opportunity to do it, hope you guys enjoy!
