Better Late Than Never On This ‘Wild’ Godlands Heater

by Steph Contant

Godlands first appeared on our radar earlier this year with a monster of a track titled ‘Everybody Knows‘ that let the bass scene know that she was one to keep an eye on. The Australian up-and-comer has established herself as a force to be reckoned with in just a few original releases, where she continues to carve her place in the trap scene. These original releases have also gotten the attention of Aussie promoters, as she’s now set to embark on the Australia-wide Listen Out festival tour later this month.

A couple of weeks ago, Godlands released yet another trap heater, and we’re not quite sure why we only got to featuring it now. Nonetheless, her latest titled ‘Wild’ lives up to its name, and in more than one way. Godlands leads things off with an eerie soundscape highlighted by tribal percussion and jungle-like samples, giving you the impression that you’re out in the wild. She quickly follows up with an earth-shattering drop where metallic synths ring in the foreground while heavy 808s lurk in the distance. A change in tempo rounds out the track, further demonstrating Godlands’ versatility and raw talents as a musician.
