Because its community is celebrating its champion, its beloved prince, its brightest rising star, chromonicci, and his sparkling debut, Bounce Back. With all the madness that went down during his year, from the infamous robbery to his graduation, this project has been delayed for so long I started suffering a serious ‘too-much-hype’ complex. To be honest, the risk that the so called ‘nicci bounce’ sound could become a cage to Chris creativity is something I’ve been thinking several times. After all it’s a common issue that effects people on every level.
How naive I was.
Less than 40 seconds into Bounce Back are enough for chromonicci to immediately scatter every misgiving. Wearing the best suit in his wardrobe, he brings out 15 minutes of authentic, fresh and classy beats, something so stylish that I feel bad listening to it in my simple T-shirt and Birkenstocks. It’s a one man show where, with every track, he keeps reminding you that can ‘do it all’. You want some nicci-bounce mashed up with some lounge, jazz vibes and hip hop sauce? No problem, ‘Let Go.’ is there for you. Maybe you prefer some rap? Take ‘Do It All’ and go home. You’re nostalgic for the good old instrumental anthems? Chromonicci has got you covered with ‘Huh’ and ‘Healing’. At last you feel a bit dead inside but still an irremediable romantic? Say ‘No More’.
As you can see, Christian is blowing up everything in his way to the top and apparently there’s no limit to his talent, in the studio or onstage . No wonder giant influencers of the scene like of Soulection and Sam Gellaitry have displayed their appreciation towards the Texan producer.
