PREMIERE: William. Keeps It Gritty On ‘The Rat King’

by Colin

Since releasing his stellar EP Telekinesis, William. has been on fire. He’s remixed Dabow, collaborated with Rad Hatter and dropped some wildness on Phuture Collective. Keeping his momentum going full steam comes his latest single ‘The Rat King’. We first heard the track in Cozway’s FUXWITHIT Guest Mix and have been waiting for the full release ever since. Today we have the pleasure of premiering the massive new release.

‘The Rat King’ is 4 minutes of absolute madness. Distorted hip-hop leaning vocals form the foundation over an ethereal soundscape that’s glitched out. The first drop brings us straight into the sewers. It’s gritty, hard-hitting, dark and disorienting. But the madness isn’t all encompassing, a hopeful undertone finds its way through, like a beam of light trying to fight the darkness. The attempt is short-lived as the darkness once again surrounds you and takes you deeper into the subterranean sounds for a filthy conclusion.

If you like your music experimental, dark and dirty, ‘The Rat King’ might take the crown.
