Were you a cliche Emo kid that loved Paramore but now are into bass and hard electro? Well I have a track for you.
Birthdayy Partyy’s remix of Paramore’s breakthrough single ‘Misery Business’ brings back not only the memories, but also the epic emotions and catchy flare of 2007’s alternative rock smash. The duo pump up the bass and bring out more of the heavier sounds in Hayley Williams voice. They draw out the drama over the guitar solo and get really dark with the deeper synths, which is uncharacteristic of them.
Taking on this darker edge seems to suit them as they build up great tension throughout the track and kept the tempo of this rumbling bass in step with the vocals. This is definitely a remix that pays homage to the original sentiment of its sample while still being a contemporary banger.
