Jaenga Makes a Memorable Introduction with ‘Toulambi’ EP

by A. Samuel Lewis

New York-based freeform music producer Jaenga is as fresh as new talent comes. With an official remix of ‘Kill Em’ by Zeds Dead & 1000Volts furnishing his inauguration to the world of SoundCloud, not more than a month ago, he’s wasted no time sinking his claws deeper into the realm of experimental bass with his debut EP Toulambi.

Harnessing infancy to his own benefit, Toulambi provides an opportunity for Jaenga to flaunt his creative diversity, touching upon a variety of styles and genres, revealing bits and pieces of his vision with each piece of the 4-track bass odyssey.

Tracks such as ‘Gravity’ demonstrate complex sound design, melding overwhelming surges of reverberating bass with a perplexing and thought-proving piano melody, while ‘Monsters’ with Weekend Warriors illustrate his capacity to collaborate successfully with divergent styles.

Progressing at an astounding rate, Jaenga is quickly becoming one of the hottest names in electronic music, with a complex project Toulambi in his wake it’s no telling what the future will hold for this bright artist.
