Losi first appeared on my radar with his standout track ‘MAKE IT’ from bitbird’s Gouldian Finch #02 compilation. Despite being relatively inactive since then, it’s always exciting to see an artist return with new and refreshing music after a long period of time. Today, Vancouver-based producer and designer Losi has returned to bitbird with his debut EP titled MADE TO MOVE AIR, and it’s a neatly developed three-track project that is as raucous as it is thrillingly experimental. Preciously plucked from an array of unfinished tracks, the three that make up MADE TO MOVE AIR were carefully selected by Losi, showcasing some of his proudest work.
A single listen-through of MADE TO MOVE AIR will easily show listeners just how much meticulous thought Losi has put into his work. Kicking off the project with ‘HEART ATTACK’, Losi picks up where he left off with a wildly innovative tune that lives up to its name. A crescendo in energy, this first track is a jittery banger that sets the stage for the rest of the enthralling project. The infectious ‘LOSI ANTHEM’ follows, where Losi combines an earworm of a melody with punchy stabs and crisp percussion to create a trap heater. Finally, the talented producer caps off his EP with an inventive masterpiece titled ‘SUNDAY SUNDAY’. The blending of eclectic sounds and sunny string samples were actually inspired by a t-shirt, showcasing Losi’s creative mind and unique approach to art.
Losi’s MADE TO MOVE AIR blurs the lines between future bass and trap in an unparalleled fashion. Don’t miss it below and let us know what you think!
