Back in 2016, Sweet Tunes was established by Animals In The Room as a label and platform to showcase new artists and sounds. While they’ve been doing it through a slew of singles and an EP release, it’s their first compilation that’s really set to carve out their space in the industry. Ambrosia Vol. 1 is a 9 track offering that showcases some of the wildest west coast bass you’ll encounter.
“Ancient Greek mythology depicts Ambrosia as a food or drink brought on the backs of doves to the gods in Olympus. Whoever consumed it was supposedly granted immortality. In our culture today, Ambrosia is known as a variation of the traditional fruit salad. Much like the fruit salad, the Sweet Tunes Ambrosia compilation fuses wholesome ingredients harvested from different biomes and unites them as a dish fit for the gods themselves. Immortality not guaranteed,” the Sweet Tunes founder explains.
Each track will transport you to a new dimension or re-incarnation of reality. Tracks like ‘Surrogate’ and ‘Hot Wheel Chop Shop’ will have you levitating through an extraterrestrial atmosphere while cuts like ‘Aku’ and ‘Treading Water’ will drag you into a murky bass swamp. How it all came together is part hard work of the curator, and part universal magic, “I can’t help but to still believe there’s some magic in music powered along by unseen energy far greater than ourselves. This compilation is, because the universe wills it to be so. It’s a result of the combined willed artistic struggle of 9 separate souls manifesting creativity from realms beyond our understanding,” Animals in the Room tell us.
