AC Slater and his esteemed Night Bass label are among the best at keeping everything from classic house to UK garage alive and thriving. Being backed by a strong roster of crowd favourites does not prevent the label from continuously bringing new talent to the spotlight, as they are always giving bass fans something to get down to on the dance floor. A great example of this statement is their latest release, Corrupt‘s It’s Not Ok EP. After being introduced to the label fans in Night Bass Volume 6 a year ago with his bangin’ track ‘Intentions’, Corrupt has returned to Night Bass with a heavy artillery of rave madness.
After hearing the EP teaser a week ago, I knew Corrupt’s project was going to instantly become both a personal and club favourite. The title track sets the stage for the rest of the EP, where Natz’s soulful vocals are layered above a dynamic introduction, before Corrupt unleashes UK bassline at its finest. The amount of groove in this track should almost be illegal, and one can only imagine the damage it does in clubs. ‘Keep It Coming’ is just as groovy as the first track, but Corrupt added further grittiness to get you moving with a gnarly bass face. The final two tracks of the It’s Not Ok EP will have you dancing just as much as the first two, which is a true testament to Corrupt’s innate ability to make club-ready bangers. Don’t miss his debut Night Bass EP below.
