Last month we highlighted MEMPHIS. in our Focus Five feature. The Toronto based producer has commanded our attention with his impressive output and consistently impressive releases. Today MEMPHIS. returns with a collaboration alongside DIEOM. Off the title alone, ‘PROPHECY’ sets the tone; it’s brooding, mystical and ominous. “By definition, the word prophecy means ‘the foretelling or prediction of what is to come’ and in my own personal experience, the concept of a prophecy reminds me of something dark and thrilling; so when we played back the track, the word prophecy came to mind not only because of the play on words from titles of past collaborations, but the actual feel to the song really resonated with our own ideas of a prophetic event based on its chilling atmosphere.” MEMPHIS. explains.

The beauty of this release is the power contained within it. The two producers weave together an audio texture that is deep and enthralling, while still injecting classic trap elements to ensure it bangs.
