KUREI Teams Up With yojas. On ‘Off the Chain’

by Tony Leonard

KUREI is quickly rising to domination in the SoundCloud realm of trap and bass. Having a huge 2018, this year looks to be even more promising. For his first track of the year, he teams up with yojas, who is also an establishing name in the trap game. Continuing with the “weird trap shit” formula that we have come to love so much, ‘Off the Chain‘ sends us into a cave with icicles hanging from the ceiling. Walking into this icy cave, you are confronted by Gucci Mane in his fur coat to let you know this is real trap shit. This is exactly the content we crave, and having this be a precursor to the year, we are looking forward to whats in store for KUREI.

The sounds these two producers are able to forge, would lead you to believe they have released a library full of collaborations, but this being their first, is something we should have saw coming. KUREI and yojas are the perfect collaborators to represent the underground movement that is thriving so frivolously. “I think nowadays people on SoundCloud make music that is too technical or experimental for an average listener to enjoy. I want to make music that can cater to both the average listener and the undergrounders,” stated yojas in a recent interview with edmjoy, and that’s exactly what both artists claim in this track. With both of these guys having releases through the likes of Below the Surface, it was only a matter of time before we would be blessed with an elegant banger. KUREI knows exactly how to bend these vocal samples to work in a flawless fashion as its become a staple for his sound. The sound design constructed in ‘Off the Chain’ is only a progression to previous work and shows the relentless time invested into making his sound known.
