PREMIERE: Noclu Reconfigures His & Chee’s Classic ‘Get Hot’ Into Post-Apocalyptic Melter

by Steph Contant

Chee and Noclu‘s hit ‘Get Hot’ quickly propelled its way through bass sets worldwide after the legendary G Jones remixed the innovative track. First released on Chee’s Fear Monger LP back in 2017, the anthem became a staple in mixes and sets due to its unique, genre-defying style and ability to fit seamlessly into any high-energy tracklist. Nearly two years after its original release, Noclu has decided to give ‘Get Hot’ another spin, offering a VIP of the original that we’re stoked to premiere today, out now on Saturate Records.

When asked about how his talents have evolved since the Fear Monger version, Noclu states, “I started working with resampling lots of my own ambient recordings and using granular synthesis. I think my mixing is getting better, too. I’m focusing more on making a track sound good than I did in the past.” We’re definitely not stating that the original didn’t sound good, but Noclu definitely upped his game with this VIP.

Featuring some of the classic sounds from the original, the German producer flips the melody into a disorderly medley of clean plucks, somehow making the chaos sound naturally organized. While the Fear Monger version has a great vibe, straddling the line between going nuts on the dance floor and nodding your head while chilling, Noclu’s VIP raises the energy and grittiness, creating the essence of a barren, dystopian world ravaged by cybernetic robots. That’s the exact vibe the skilled artist wanted to illustrate, saying “I had a picture of a really big cyborg elephant in a post-apocalyptic desert stomping in my mind. And I wanted the ground to shake with every step.

Sure to get your ears rattling and perhaps the ground shaking with proper speakers, Noclu’s ‘Get Hot’ VIP is further evidence of the German’s innate hit-making abilities. Check it out below!
