JOYRYDE Makes Highly Anticipated Return With Brilliant ‘IM GONE’

by Steph Contant

It’s been a long, arduous journey for JOYRYDE. After going through back surgery early last year, the innovative producer admitted to struggling with addiction for a few months. October saw JOYRYDE return to releasing new music, where he teamed up with Skrillex to unleash the genre-defying ‘AGEN WIDA‘. November saw the trend-setter delay his BRAVE album, before returning to hibernation and leaving fans in eager anticipation of something new. Today, hope is regained by all, as JOYRYDE returns with ‘IM GONE’, the first single from his upcoming album.

Written during his battle with drugs, the LA-based artist states his mind was elsewhere in those months, and that ‘IM GONE’ simply isn’t normal. His description could not be more spot on. A distorted vocal kicks things off, before JOYRYDE’s signature bass house percussion takes the lead. Through anonymous but punchy vocals, JOYRYDE builds the energy as the introduction progresses, creating an air of gripping tension. His distinct sirens and horns bring the track to a crescendo of anxiety, just as rippling gunshots bring about bass insanity. Orchestral leads and squeaky clean plucks shine at the forefront to construct a chaotic yet elegant section. The bass house madness is followed by a classical piano bridge as JOYRYDE meshes bass with sophisticated instrumentals in a truly unparalleled manner. ‘IM GONE’ is a wild trip into the creative genius’ mind, where elements of trap, house and classical music come together to form one cohesive masterpiece. Don’t miss it below.
