Shadient Deviates From The Norm With ‘Abberate’

by Steph Contant

Back when midtempo was relatively new, Shadient was at the forefront of the genre with unique projects such as his winter=reality EP continuously pushing the dark sounds to new depths. Since then, the British producer has always remained ahead of the curve, carving his own path within the now-saturated midtempo realm. Through originals such as ‘COLLIDER‘ and official remixes for the likes of RL Grime and WAVEDASH, Shadient has consistently been the secret weapon within the dark bass community, blurring the lines between his original sound, dubstep and electro.

This week, Shadient declared that he had officially signed with NGHTMRE and Slander’s Gud Vibrations label, accompanied by the announcement of a new four-track project, of which the first track, ‘Abberate’, is out today. “My primary focus with this entire release was inspired by the idea of delving into one’s nostalgia and to explore the first pieces of dance music I ever heard,” the creative producer states about his latest work. Deviating from what is considered normal, the aptly-named track is a wicked introduction to the British producer’s second EP. Shadient creates dystopian soundscapes with robotic samples and neuro synths, forging an eerie feeling of darkness within anyone who listens. Undoubtedly one of his most unusual concoctions to date, the British mastermind fuses trap, raw industrial techno and big beat in an unparalleled manner. Transporting listeners to the future with spine-chilling effects and pristine sound design, ‘Abberate’ is sure to have leave fans itching for more. Don’t miss it below.
