PREMIERE: jordnmoody Defines Unique Sound Structure in ‘MØNEY’

by Tony Leonard

The San Diego based producer jordnmoody is an experimental trap and bass enthusiast. As far back as his track ‘UNGH‘ (and even further back) he has always tested genre limits and naturally carried a forward-thinking image. He adds to his inventory of originals with the latest release titled ‘MØNEY’. Continuing with an emphasis on trembling bass, he keeps the listener busy with a myriad of percussion and coin-like samples that are panned specifically to catch the attention of each ear separately. The authenticity bestowed by jordnmoody is what separates him from the influx of current rising experimental bass artists. He has quickly honed in on a uniquely weird, forward-thinking sound design and structure to represent his character.

‘MØNEY’ starts with a slow tambourine build up before being overtaken by thick low end bass sculptures that lead you inside of a bank vault. A faint sound of coins drop in the background while the vocal sample “money” is looped over it. The time and effort put into distinguishing different pitches of bass is simply remarkable. There is a small distinct feeling of cashing out big before hoping in the coupe and driving down the shoreline. Let the top of the convertible down and go for a cruise to jordnmoody’s most recent work below.
