Coming out of Boulder, Colorado is Indra. Not your typical artist by any means, it’s clear even from his name. Indra is a Vedic deity known as the god of the heavens, lightning, thunder, storms, rains and river flows. This isn’t a moniker he randomly adopted, it’s actually his middle name, a fact which is less surprising given he was raised around Hindu temples doing meditation. Fittingly, his music possesses a near spiritual experimental vibe which is perfectly showcased on his newest release ‘Levitate’.
Anchored by an Alan Watts sample exploring LSD use, ‘Levitate’ is an absolute trip. Indra is no stranger to psychedelics and ‘Levitate’ allows listeners to feel the effects of a tab for three and half minutes. “I wanted listeners to feel surrounded by something completely different and take a flight into the space & time,” he tell us. The ever-progressing effort balances brain-melting sound design with wonky bass for a sound that’s sure to have you out of your body. Enjoy the experience below. ‘Levitate’ is out now, fittingly on Presently Lifted.
