ËMMË Flips Odesza’s ‘Higher Ground’ Into Chaotic Bass Bop

by Steph Contant

Despite having less than one thousand followers on SoundCloud, ËMMË has proven that numbers don’t mean much through a handful of euphoric releases such as ‘Good Love‘ and ‘Pass By Me‘ on Elysian Records that have amassed well over 100k plays. The Sydney-based producer has also added versatility to his repertoire with a few heavy-hitting trap bangers, showing signs of a bright future.

Keeping this wave of adaptability afloat, ËMMË returns with another harder release, this time flipping Odesza’s ethereal ‘Higher Ground’ into a unique midtempo heater. Utilizing Naomi Wild’s original vocals, ËMMË brings added percussion and effects in the introduction to give the track an orchestral feel. As the track progresses, the energy builds until the chorus comes to an end and ËMMË flips the script with gnarly synths and crunchy bass. A soothing bridge similar to the introduction brings forth an even wilder second drop, where the distortion remains but beauty is layered over top. ËMMË’s ‘Higher Ground’ is sure to send any club crowd into a frenzy, don’t miss it below.
