Juelz Flexes Versatility And Craftsmanship In ‘Shanghai Nights’ EP

by Steph Contant

During the last couple of months, Vancouver-based Juelz has slowly been building up the hype toward his debut EP, Shanghai Nights. Through the ups-and-downs of ‘Closure‘ featuring Ruby Chase and the vocal-driven hip-hop heater ‘Milo’s Song‘ with Ye Ali, Juelz has shown that the last year spent refining his craft towards this project has been nothing but productive.

Today, the final two tracks from Shanghai Nights see the light of day. Kicking the project off is ‘Money To The Sky’, a quintessential Juelz banger. An orchestral introduction gradually builds the track to a climax, before the talented beat maker switches the vibe into an atypical trap slapper highlighted by catchy vocal chops and piercing synths. As he did with ‘Closure’, Juelz transforms the second half of the track into a euphoric future bass ballad, contrasting the initial portion of the song in a seamless fashion. The EP’s title track rounds out the versatile project and sees Juelz tapping DiRTY RADiO vocals to once again flex his dominance as a multi-talented producer, shining a light on the R&B-like vocals without undermining his own pristine musical abilities.

Shanghai Nights is a well-rounded project sure to contain a favourite for a wide array of music fans. Don’t miss it below.
