13 has been consistently crafting some of the most top shelf midtempo heat of the past two years. With two ludicrous EP’s showcasing his impeccable sound design and hypnotizing arrangements already released in 2019, this man has been on an absolute warpath. Now, he’s continued his reign of audio terror with his newest release ‘Mirage,’ a track so thick you’ll hardly believe it’s real.
‘Mirage’ draws you into a trance with its opening filled with vocal samples reminiscent of hallucinations one might have while wandering the Sahara desert. Next, the drums kick in and drive things into full force, quickening the pace and spiking adrenal levels, as your body prepares for its dopamine receptors to light up like a Christmas tree. “Slap” is much too soft of a word to describe how hard this song hits, as it feels like the Hulk is practicing his jabs on an unsuspecting human body bag. It doesn’t matter what dance move you bust out to get weird to this song with, all that’s certain is that you’ll be doing it viciously with a massive grin on your face.
