FLY Continues To Ride The Bass Wave In ‘Calypso’

by Steph Contant

FLY is committing sonic murder on a bi-weekly basis. Hot off his space-tribal ‘Wuzu‘ and seven other hard-hitting releases in this calendar year alone, there appears to be no end in sight to his ravaging of our delicate ears. As bass fans, we couldn’t be any more excited, though.

The LA-based producer’s latest work titled ‘Calypso’ is also taking no hostages, as the experimental bass mastermind only continues to establish his intricate sound. The track is minimal yet complex, with the lack of overbearing sounds being contrasted by mechanically precise synths, stabs and effects. Metallic percussion is added to give the track a chaotic feel, while also helping it flow from one mesmerizing section to the next. Don’t miss ‘Calypso’ below.
