PREMIERE: Tripzy Leary Continues Cyberdelic Voyage In ‘Penicillium’

by Steph Contant

Tripzy Leary is among bass music’s most eccentric story-tellers. Every single, remix and project contributes to the artist’s vision of a voyage through the depths of space and the unknown. From Terraformer and Arrival to his Space Migration LP, each piece is uniquely concocted to send listeners on an exciting journey, a trip if you will. Tripzy Leary looks to keep this theme alive today with the release of his Planet Mycelium EP, a four-track conquest of an extraterrestrial planet.

Planet Mycelium is where Leary came from, sort of an alien entity that sends signals to Tripzy’s brain in the form of music. Mycelium is a type of fungus that grows like a web of neurones. The Mycelium race has been evolving for millennia as a higher intelligence who have been seeding planets like Earth with billion year old DNA… they’re kind of like the gardeners of the galaxy. Humans have been using psychedelics like psilocybin for centuries to tap into these networks of universal data getting in tune with our natural DMT, hallucinating our way to developing technology and understanding how the universe works. This stream of data comes from these places of higher intelligent beings like Planet Mycelium. It’s like water for plants, it helps them grow and evolve into higher intelligent beings that could eventually leave their place of birth and join the galactic community that grows and evolves DNA,” Tripzy Leary elaborates about the backstory behind his latest project.

Since the 1960s, a more perfected psychedelic has sped up our DNA’s evolutionary process, uploading our consciousness and transmitting data at a whole new level. At this stage, we are mutating our DNA more and more becoming connected with this universal higher intelligence from the Mycelium networks. We see the light and naturally decide we need to move towards it. Many humans who came from this psychedelic era are shaping and pushing our species towards enabling us to evolve into our extraterrestrial butterflies, migrating to a higher mind state with the internet and virtual reality,” he continues. “I’m giving you a sonic representation of where we are headed. This is the metamorphosis in motion. Let us not fear. Let the future become clear. Welcome to Planet Mycelium.

We are stoked to be premiering ‘Penicillium’ from Tripzy Leary’s project, a track that represents the protective gear needed for humans to explore Planet Mycelium. A robotic voice warns of the dangers present on the strange intergalactic body, before the talented producer quickly builds into a culmination of relentless alien-inspired synths and effects. Holding nothing back, Tripzy Leary flexes quirky sound design and imaginative melodies in ‘Penicillium,’ staying true to his unique sound and pushing it to new, unexplored territories, both figuratively and literally.
