Drezo Returns To His Roots In Sinister ‘Afterlife’

by Steph Contant

Finally emerging from the depths of his evil lair is the king of dark house, Drezo. With the release of his remix for Gesaffelstein’s ‘Aleph‘ late last year and the promise of more new music after a hiatus, fans have been anxiously awaiting the return of the LA-based producer. This week, Drezo’s announcement of his upcoming Omens EP series officially confirmed his return to regular releases.

Excited to announce my new EP series, ‘Omens’. Each volume will represent the dark/industrial club sound I’ve built my project on while also giving me a space to release collabs with artists in the same realm,” Drezo states about his upcoming works. Perhaps this statement finally means we’ll get an official release of his elusive collaboration with Habstrakt, but that’s just mere speculation at this point. One certainty, however, is that Drezo is back and stronger than ever, with his first single ‘Afterlife’ being released today.

‘Afterlife’ is everything Drezo fans have been itching for: a dark, devilish house track true to his original sound that only gets more sinister as the track progresses. Drezo begins the track with an orchestral organ to depict the church trying to fight against the world’s evil, before this evil soon takes over and an unholy, malicious aura takes center stage. A constant battle between angels and demons, ‘Afterlife’ is sure to tear up any club dance floor. Check it out below!
