PREMIERE: Truth Concoct Sweet, Experimental Dreams in ‘Goodnight’

by A. Samuel Lewis

A capricious production duo originally hailing from Christchurch, New Zealand and now home to San Francisco, California Tristan Roake and Andre Fernandez, better known for their deep ominous dubstep persona Truth, have expertly captivated audiences with an eclectic aural variety that encompasses nearly 13 years.

Pioneers of enigmatic soundscapes permeated with cavernous subs and wintry basslines, the duo have delivered an exceptional catalog of releases alongside the likes of The Upbeats and Megalodon, enriching the rosters of Deep, Dark & Dangerous, Disciple, and SMOG Records in a decade-long triumph of dubstep.

Broadening the scope of their horizons, Truth reveal a heroic four-track Wakaan saga titled The Unexpected, which fittingly dons an unorthodox cadence and further displays the duos vast production discipline. Today we the pleasure of premiering one of the standout tracks ‘Goodnight’.

An insatiable whistling weaved within a soulful vocal melody and vibrant playful strings present a mesmerizing welcome to ‘Goodnight’. Deep waves of bass permeate the background, maintained exclusively with a simple but purposeful kick-snare pattern creating an entrancing dream-like state that ushers effortlessly into an imbibing myriad of resonating frequencies.

Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and let the stupor of ‘Goodnight’ absorb you.
