With previous releases on Jadu Dala and Tribal Trap, Amsterdam-based producer Vluarr has been making some major waves in the trap and bass scene. Today he returns with what’s sure to be his biggest banger to date in ‘DOPE’ out on Trap Party. It seems his time studying at Herman Brood Academie has paid off, as ‘DOPE’ is a refreshing smash that’s sure to boost your energy levels. The ominous intro creates a grande air that slowly builds in mystique and intensity. A fun rap vocal precedes the drop before launching us into a ground-shaking collisions of bass, gritty synths and “dope” samples. The first breakdown infuses a bouncy hip-hop swagger before switching course. “The second break started as a little joke to be honest, because it’s really EDM style but eventually I actually liked it a lot. I wanted to create a different bounce in the second drop with different sounds and elements, to give it a new impulse. The main sound there is just a percussion thing with a phaser on it and some saturation,” Vluarr tells us providing insight into his creation process.
