You know, FUXWITHIT’s eye never blinks, never sleeps, never gets tired of scanning the world in search of the next cool premiere. This time, the big F brings you to Paris, to meet one of the most interesting boutiques of fresh sounds. Sans Huile De Palm (SHDP) is a young ambitious agency which provides management, booking and promotion services to a carefully selected group of local artists.
Today, after ten months of hard work, these Frenchman proudly release Clouds and Plants, Hyume’s very first EP and SHDP rec’s second official release. Composed of five tracks, this project illustrates, unsung words of the artist himself ‘the five stages of an introspective journey, highlights the ambition that lies inside each of us, from its birth in the earth to its rise in the clouds. Clouds & Plants acts as a therapy against boredom and awakes in us a new feeling: hope.’ Poetic, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’re more of a down-to-earth person, don’t worry, Clouds and Plants can be a delight without a metaphysical approach.
First and foremost, let me say that Hyume raised the bar with this EP, both in terms of creativity and quality (big up to Chopsoe for the mixing). The highly immersive atmospheres of the single tracks, four of which could have easily been successful standalone singles, blend into one another, creating a lush chromatic adventure inside the wide frame of the Future Bass etiquette. Thanks to the vocal contributions of Flower Mao, YudN, MIAE and Alex Serra, the EP is enriched with even more hues, so that you’ll find Kidwaste or Mura Masa kind of vibes alongside vocals that echoe Post Malone, Elohim and Mark Johns.
