PREMIERE: Kahji Warps Time and Sound in ‘Resurgence’

by Tony Leonard

If you are as invested in SoundCloud as I am, you have go to pages you rely on for quality music. Wormhole Music Group happens to be one of those that I follow closely. As a result, I have been introduced to many artists, and also discovered a plethora of names I have never seen before. One of those being Kahji, back with his release ‘Catacombs‘. Today he returns with another preview of his upcoming Wormhole Music Group EP Cycles, with the track ‘Resurgence‘.

Based out of Portland, Kyle McCall warps time and sound in today’s release. The cleanliness behind the mix down further instigates its hypnosis feel. In addition, the first drop is inebriating as it sends you fully down the rabbit hole with bass bending low end. It carries a high energy that fluctuates between octaves allowing for a truly immersive listening experience. Coming back in on the second drop, it’s like trying to start a car that will not fully turn over on first try. It seems as if something is broken, but still has life. It eventually finds the energy again as the original drop sound is reintroduced before we depart from this journey through sound.

Listen to ‘Resurgence’ below in preparation for the release of Cycles on July 5th.
