Although one of the youngest artists to make a wave in the electronic music world as of late, Moore Kismet really needs no introduction. The Adelanto-based prodigy’s creative potential is truly unmatched, and this ceaseless ingenuity has caught the eyes and ears of some of the greatest to grace the scene. Last month’s tantalizing ‘Escape‘ released on Never Say Die was recently announced to be the first single from his Character EP, out on July 19th on the esteemed label. In anticipation of the five-track project, we are ecstatic to premiere the pristinely-crafted ‘Sugar Rush.’
When asked about the theme behind the Character EP and ‘Sugar Rush,’ Moore Kismet states, “Basically the story behind the whole EP is that every track represents a color of the rainbow/one of my personal character traits, hence the name of the EP and the artwork that goes along with it. ‘Sugar Rush’ represents my hyperactivity and me shifting my focus from one thing to another.” Listeners get a glimpse of this jittery behaviour from the get-go, as Moore Kismet creates a vivid introduction through an upbeat, colourful melody and breathtaking effects. As ‘Sugar Rush’ hits its climax, the volatility only continues to grow, with the talented artist alternating between rugged, gritty sound design and lush, flourishing future bass-like sections all without sounding disjointed.
Moore Kismet displays experience well beyond his years in ‘Sugar Rush,’ especially in its cohesive interweaving between percussion tempos and styles. “I’m most proud of the fact that I made a DnB song as a whole! The arrangement in general was pretty gratifying for me, mainly because it allowed me to do whatever I wanted with it,” continues the versatile producer about his latest. So, strap in and prepare yourself for a roller-coaster of emotions as you jump into the hyperactivity that is ‘Sugar Rush’ below!
