If there’s any producer that comes to mind when you think of consistently pushing boundaries, it’s graves. After dropping his latest EP Far From Here a few months back, the Hawaii-based legend follows up with two new tracks to break the hiatus.
graves holds nothing back with the first track ‘Deadsong’ featuring 93FEETOFSMOKE, a song that merges his emo style with arguably one of the most aggressive drops ever by the producer. Accented by a strong vocal, ‘Deadsong’ shows a side of experimentation and creativity, while coincidentally boasting its true colors. The second track ‘Transmissions’ featuring Maazel takes more of a melodic stance, bringing us back to the roots of graves’ alias. Emotional, heartfelt chord progressions followed by a powerful future-bass style drop that almost feels like a combination of his older tracks ‘Lost Boys’ and ‘Hilo.’
graves consistently puts his heart and soul into his work, showing the true passion and drive he has for his craft. Daedal yet lucid and recognizable, graves has a way of connecting to his fans through music unlike anyone else, and man are we excited for what’s next. Be sure to give the two tracks a listen below!
