It’s no secret that the New Zealand bass music scene has been producing some of the most exciting names on the rise right now. Troy Kete has become familiar to that label, as he’s been recognized as a true innovator out of New Zealand. His recent single, ‘Burn it Down’, was released on Be Rich Records and received three official remixes from the likes of LATU, Chris Royal, and Profane. On ‘Bumbadoo’, Troy Kete teams up with tingles, who is a fellow rising star out of NZ to give the track a freeform touch.
As the song begins, we are guided through an eerie build-up which adds additional percussion every few bars, truly adding to the element of suspense. A third of the way through the track, we are hit with a window-shattering sub accompanied by high pitched screeches. As we approach two and a half minutes, a new rhythmic pattern emerges which pays homage to the first section of ‘Bumbadoo’, while also giving the track new life. New Zealand, stand up and check this one out below!
