Spicy Bois OLD GREGG and shwiLLy have come together for a mind-bending romp so saucy Gordon Ramsay would have a thing or two to say about it. ‘Mind Activation’ is the first release for both these artists on the hot bed of hellacious wubs, The Untz, a testament to the quality of this piece and the progression these two have made in their art form. Practically overflowing with character and immense layers that keep you coming back replay after replay, this track is riddled with so many elements it’s hard to hear them all with just one rinsing.
Much like how videogames stow away Easter eggs to make you come back for more, this track is deeper than the Marianas Trench, practically forcing your brain into a state of ADD as it tries to focus on the individual sounds while still keeping the entirety at the forefront of your mind. It’s like an arcade claw game for your ears; you see something you dig and want to snatch it so you focus on solely that piece, but once you grab it the longer you hold on the more it slips away. The sounds are all mixed exceedingly well, with vocals gracefully floating in and out, adding little accentuations before being extended over the second drop adding a pleasurable waviness. If you ever wanted to know what it would feel like to be possessed to do gun fingers to bassy wubs, the last drop is right up your alley, as it culminates the almost four minute long musical journey.
Fans of deep, bass-heavy goodness should definitely put this in their “to listen to” playlists, as I have a feeling it will be receiving heaps of frequent flyer miles from surfing extensive amounts of airwaves.
