Blaize & Jorge Toscano Turn Creativity Up To 11 With ‘Selecta’

by Alex Bell

San Antonio based Austin Moses and Jorge Partida, or Blaize and Jorge Toscano respectively, have come together for a song one could easily describe as a jack of all trades. ‘Selecta’ will make it exceedingly difficult for you to select a singular genre to categorize it under. Released on Jayceeoh’s Super 7 Records, you know this isn’t a track to play around with. A veritable DJ Swiss Army knife, this song features a hardstyle-esque drop, an old school dubstep drop, a future bass drop, and a ridiculous false psytrance drop into an even more gnarly dubstep drop. If that last sentence alone wasn’t enough to really get your blood pumping, please check your pulse.

One of the most impressive aspects of this is the consistent flow that is maintained throughout the entirety of the piece despite the variety of styles contained within. It takes true talent to be both diverse and consistent at the same time. When you learn that these two based a tour around this song, it’s a simple task to see why, as it showcases a wide range of skills and potential styles of sets. This song should leave fans anxious to catch these two live, as there’s really no telling what you’ll get, but you’ll know it’ll be rowdy.
