It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from ukko. One of Switzerland’s finest beat-makers promised an EP of “dream pop/folk/trap” in a tweet earlier this year, before sharing ‘atoms and void‘ to earn a spot in our Focus Five series in late March. Despite being silent since then, there’s no denying that the talented Swiss producer has been hard at work, and this week’s newest track ‘venus’ is definite proof. In his first release in over six months, ukko reminds us why he landed on our radar in the first place, crafting dreamy soundscapes rich with bounce and emotion that get all your senses tingling. Wasting no time with a short introduction, the artful musician uses repeated vocal chops, playful melodies and groovy percussives to create a future beat bop full of life and energy that doesn’t let up until the very last moments of the track.
