Although unconfirmed, recent evidence suggests that Tsuruda is not from our planet. The sheer volume and daunting consistency of each and every track that the artist puts out certainly hints at the presence of something alienesque hidden within, with an outpour of pristine productions flowing with no end in sight. In the last year alone, Tsuruda has put out Unlimited Data, Internet Slaps Vol. 2 and a few more works totalling over 40 tracks, and the recent announcement of his FUBAR EP promises more insanity from the skilled producer.
The announcement of the EP set to drop in October is accompanied with a lead single titled ‘Dragon Of The Darkness Flame’ that displays why Tsuruda is regarded as one of the best in the experimental bass music scene. An introduction drawing heavy inspiration from hip-hop productions sets the stage with a hypnotizing flow, before a “now you’re dead” sample catapults the track into raw, gritty madness. For over ninety seconds, Tsuruda flexes complex sound design paired with unparalleled movement that makes ‘Dragon Of The Darkness Flame’ gnarly with a danceable feel. With an attention to detail that is second to none, Tsuruda weaves in and out of a dream-like state throughout the track, even adding uplifting effects near the end to cap things off with a bubbly atmosphere.
We can’t wait for what’s to come on the FUBAR EP. Until then, don’t miss ‘Dragon Of The Darkness Flame’ below.
