Normally, producers are lucky to whip up one actual banger in a month’s time, if even longer. 19 year old hybrid trap producer KRMA throws the average right out the window, with three absolutely ludicrous releases all in the past month, and scores before that. Placing heavy emphasis on individually, style, and sound design so clean you don’t even need lemon pledge, this artist could easily be top tier talent in the years to come. Today, we have the pleasure of premiering his newest piece of sonic destruction, ‘Helix,’ a veritable feast for the ears, and quite possibly the most savage of the four releases he’s had recently.
‘Helix’ seems like something straight out of a Sci-fi movie, with sound so full-bodied and rounded that it has a life of its own. Adding little accents as fills with little “blips” and “blops” that sound like a hi-fi toad noises with included left and right movement throughout the notes, makes the sound all-encompassing; an almost 4D experience. The layering and mastering in this piece are immaculate, with sounds being swiftly thrust into your ear canals and then being replaced with something you didn’t even know could be filthier. This element makes repeat listens a major priority to pick up on all the little touches. There’s something called “organized chaos,” but this is easily some of the most well-thought-out madness I’ve had the pleasure of bumping.
With an already eye-opening production standard at the youthful age of 19, KRMA will definitely be an artist to keep on your radar in 2020. Check out his latest ‘Helix’ out now on Music High Court.
