Los Angeles based Chris Zizi is a man hell-bent on showcasing his innate musical talents to the world abroad. Currently soldiering his way through his final term at the industrious Icon Collective school in California, he’s harnessing a veritable spirit bomb of tools to allow himself to convey emotion and energy through sonic therapy. A man of many musical talents, he initially dipped his toes into performance starting in middle school, where he played the clarinet for 3 years, eventually leading to marching band in high school and radio/Djing clubs in college at West Point military academy. Fall of 2017 was when he decided to dive headfirst into electronic production and make the decision to further his education at Icon. Infusing his own unique blend of melodic dubstep with more experimental undertones, he’s thrown his hat into the ring that is the bass music world. Today, we’ve had the great pleasure of premiering his latest piece ‘LostMyMind,’ a song that sends chills of relaxing pleasure down your spine.
‘LostMyMind’ is an homage to everyone that has felt their sanity slip after losing someone important in their life. A deep dive into what it means to feel alive and the pains that come along with it, this track is both thought-provoking and goosebumps-inducing. A vibey thoroughfare if you’ve ever heard one, the best way to take in this piece is with your eyes closed and the volume on max, letting the frequencies shower you with delight and memories of past lovers. The vocals are buttery smooth and layered impeccably, and the drops have the perfect amount of energy, gently gliding you along on this auditory adventure. Zizi made this song with the intention of helping people realize, “that even though they might lose something they were attached to, they don’t have to let it destroy them. They were whole before the attachment, and can remain whole without it.”
You’ll be more than whole by the end of this track, as your feelings will be practically spilling over, forcing you to come to terms with life in the present. Zizi has already shown he has a wide range of production capabilities, and he shows no signs of slowing down, teasing a track reminiscent of Leotrix, Akeos, and Ace Aura to be dropped sometime in November.
