PREMIERE: Nvctve & Akeos Join Forces In Catastrophic ‘Aperture’

by Steph Contant

Nvctve and Akeos are two names that should be on the top of your ones-to-watch list. The former landed on our Focus Five segment earlier this year and has since been on a tear through the halftime scene displaying a production prowess well beyond their years. In parallel, Akeos has been doing a ton of damage through the world of bass, seeing an immense rise in followers since the turn of the new year, largely due to the exposure gained through their colossal Labyrinth EP on Never Say Die: Black Label.

As part of Interval Audio‘s Without God: Season 6 compilation out today, the two budding producers have teamed up to unleash a brain-melting collaboration titled ‘Aperture’ that we are stoked to premiere. “We both thought each other’s music was insane and very underappreciated,” Nvctve states about the reason for their joining of forces. “The writing process for ‘Aperture’ was definitely a back-and-forth type process. We also did some screen sharing on Discord which I think is pretty useful since you can get instant feedback on how the tune sounds if the person you’re collaborating with is very far away from you,” they add.

Nestled within a compilation dominated by heavy-hitting dubstep, ‘Aperture’ provides a refreshing dosage of bass that only reinforces the statement that these two are among the elite up-and-comers in the scene. Looming, catastrophe-impending soundscapes are painted in the brief introduction, before the influence of both producers quickly comes to light. Mind-twisting, crunchy basses quickly roll in, where Nvctve and Akeos flex their wicked sound design skills with no absence of natural flow driving the piece forward. A relentless offering of gruelling bass, ‘Aperture’ is the product of two forward-thinking creatives coming together to keep the bass scene fresh. Don’t miss it below.
