It’s difficult to continue surpassing past releases with new ones, but Oregon native MineSweepa has continued to show us innovation in his production. Starting the year off with two festival bangers ‘Stop Talking’ and ‘Black McLaren,’ MineSweepa followed these with his eclectic collaboration with Tasha Baxter ‘Faces.’ His latest release ‘Fake ID’ brought the energy back with a more bass-oriented track, which made the perfect segway into ‘Periodt.’
This track begins by laying down the vocals of Lil Wayne’s ‘A Milli’ behind an array of metallic sounds that add that classic MineSweepa feel. Only thirty seconds into the track, the heavily distorted 808s appear, completing all the elements of a trap banger. Moving further into the track, we are met with more perfectly placed ‘A Milli’ vocals and a wild downtempo switch up near the end of the track.
