Jon Casey’s Latest Makes You Go ‘Nucking Futs’

by Alex Bell

South African slayer of only the most hype of trap beats, Jon Casey, has been on a path of total devastation as of late. Each time his name pops up in my SoundCloud feed I immediately gravitate towards it, the need to see what this man could possibly have whipped up next at the forefront of the mind. Utilizing some of the most energetic, forward-thinking productions in the trap world in recent memory, each subsequent release of his has attained new levels of prowess, while still maintaining his signature sound. His latest release ‘Nucking Futs,’ released through Lost Dogz’s sister SoundCloud page, The Pound, perfectly melds with the gritty experimental sound they’ve been pushing so heavily as of late.

‘Nucking Futs’ has a substantial amount of minute aesthetic elements that add significant character and texture to the piece as a whole, most you’ll miss on an initial listen. The vocal chops add an immensely pleasing slap effect, and readily contribute to the “fucked up” theme. The harshly satisfying melody mixed with the ruckus bassline work leaves the listener with only one simple goal in mind: get as absolutely buck as possible. The latter drop incorporates spacing ingeniously, with listeners thinking their speaker had to buffer for a quick second before the beat comes back in. Even after a substantial amount of rinses, one might have the impulse to check their bluetooth connection, a sign that this piece really does leave fans battered and all sorts of messed up. ‘Nucking Futs’ is just that, fucking nuts, and you should throw this bad boy on immediately.
