Have you ever found yourself in the middle of the night and completely wasted after a rave, in the lowest level of the London Underground? It’s like a whole different reality down there. You are immersed in this surreal place with stale air, white noise and surrounded by a weird, hypnotic, static atmosphere. You’re stuck in this limbo until you hear it: a roar in the distance. It quickly becomes stronger and stronger, the floor starts to rumble, the pressure of the air changes and, seconds after, the train brutally rip this world up with hellish light and noises. If you’ve missed this iconic experience, the best you can do is playing ‘Darlin’ at full volume in your headphones, it will definitely help you understand.
Now, what the hell is ‘Darlin’ you may wonder.
Well, this veritable beast is the mvp of Lost Sirens, Rohaan’s brand new EP. After Deadbeats, Circus and Saturate, FUXWITHIT favourite Mr. Grey marks his debut on the Unchained Recordings family with this musical tapestry that takes no prisoners. The UK vibes are strong in this release. Rohaan’s passion for the national heritage comes out full-fledged and, with this EP, he brings us to a journey through his own bouncy, halftime playground. I won’t start other fancy mental trips, but boths Sirens and Gum are collectors’ items that shine with their “I’m gunna mess with you” ethos, that has distinguished the style of the Manchester producer lately. Finding new artists is cool, but following a selected group of talents from their very beginnings is even more awesome and rewarding. Personally I’m always freaking excited when new music is announced and I’m extremely proud to be able to support, although marginally, every new brilliant chapter of the Rohaan project.
Now that I’m done also with the sentimental part, if you feel ready for a massive dose of powerful off-script breaks, grimey bassline banters and ghostly low-end stabs and movements, dive into Lost Sirens below.
